Healthy Habit #2-Get-a-Walkin!

I challenge you to Walk Briskly for 20 minutes a day!
If you are like me and haven't exercised since you got pregnant, this could start your fitness, but here are the reasons walking briskly everyday is so important for you as a mom. While providing enough cardiovascular activity to boost our HDL cholesterol (the good stuff) it also lowers anxiety, keeps us happy by increasing serotonin, induces brain chemicals to literally clear your head, helps you sleep better & boosts your energy all day long! Taking your baby along for the ride can also help them sleep better!! See comments for tips!



Ways to walk briskly (meaning fast enough to have a conversation, but you'd rather not-or 1 miles in 15-20 minutes: First start at your own pace if 20 minutes is too hard, start with what you can handle-than play with your baby and call it a day. Increase as you feel you can. It is easier to start on a flat track or road. Attach this habit to your daily routine by adding it somewhere in the morning because morning routines are the least likely to be skipped and as adrienne pointed out yesterday in her post there are extra benefits to exercising in the morning.
