Healthy Habit #3- You Better Clean!

Final Challenge for the week:
Clean out one drawer, cabinet or closet each week!
Why? When these are cluttered they are stress reducing, we will save precious time by not having to look for things, clutter and chaos are linked to eating and emotional escape. See comments for tips! remember you can tae the whole week for one space! What's your worst space? I can't wait to clean out and re organized my "to-file" drawer in the office!! (which hasn't been cleaned out since teddy!!)



First you will need 2 boxes and 1 trash bag. The first box is RECYCLE which are items to go back in the space. The second box is RELOCATE which are items that belong in another part of the house. The third trash bag is for items to be DISCARDED. Once the space is emptied clean the drawer or shelves with warm water and then look through your RECYCLE bin to see what is going back in the space. Go to the dollar store-or even better-The container store and get what you need to store items for that space. When you re-assemble or fill your space, place most used items in the front or on eye level shelves. Don't forget to take some time to put the items from the RELOCATE box to their homes in other spots in your house. *Tip choose a day or time of day each week that you will focus on your 1 space-once you've done this for a few weeks it will seem a lot less overwhelming because keeping up is a lot easier than catching up!! *To get motivated-set a timer during the time you designated to clean out the space. Work until the timer goes off than leave the rest until the next nap or bedtime. * You can schedule your de-clutter time during your most hungry time of the day, grab your glass of water, play some music and get going to keep the focus off snacking. *If you have time to empty out your space today or tomorrow, jot down what organizers you'll need, grab them during your next outing with the baby and plan to tackle the organizing this weekend!
