Be Aware of your Posture and Breathing

You could instantly look 10 pounds thinner if you stand tall with good posture.  You are also perceived as more intelligent and more confident.  You are also depriving your muscles of oxygen and putting enormous pressure on your abdomen, neck and shoulder slowing digestion when you slouch.  

Taking slower deeper breathe increases your energy level, Relaxes our mind and body, massages our internal organs, calms emotions and induces restful sleep!

I'm not asking you to start a yoga regimen-although if you want to challenge yourself to get into it, yoga will help improve your posture by increasing flexibility, toning your muscles and reducing stress!-I'm just asking you to be aware of your breathing and posture throughout the day.

According to one fitness expert, the isometrics you ae already doing may be helping your posture!  She recommends strengthening your rhomboidens muscles located between your shoulder blades by squeezing your shoulder blades together.

Be aware of your breathing,too!  Breath in through your nose more often.  Once a day try focusing rhythmic breathing by using your diaphragm to fill and empty your lungs.  The movement of your diaphragm controls your breathing.

So, as we start the weekend take some time to relax and just breath!
